lights dimming

i have a 96 intrepid and my lights in my radio keep dimming. they have been dimming before i had a system and after i took my system out. can sumbody tell me what the problem could be

maybe the batt or the alt are going bad or you may have a short somewhere.

Get a new car, should solve the problem...

Take it to get checked , your alternator may not be giving the right amperage to the battery in turn this can damage your battery. You may need to replace both of them to solve the problem.

i just bought a red top and the guy at auto zone said my batt and alternator was fine

Is it just you radio that is dimming or all your lights? Did you make sure you disconnected all the wiring from the amp? You may have a short somewhere. Check your grounds.

naw its jus my radio lights i dont hav a system in my car at the moment. so when u say chack my ground do u mean radio ground?

Yes...check the radio ground.

the wireing for your radio might be really sucky.. so even at stock it is bad.. maybe need to replace the + and -.
