Thanks for your help anyone

You could try to upgrade the big three, or get your alt rewound...

Well, that amplifier will put out NO WHERE near 5000 watts. It won't even put out 2500 watts...EVER. NEVER NEVER NEVER pay attention to peak wattage, always look at RMS or continuous wattage. According to specs, you amplifier SUPPOSEDLY provides 1750 watts rms @4ohm bridged...but i HIGHLY doubt that even! (especially at the price of $155).

BUT, as stated...use AT LEAST 4guage and upgrade your alternator to battery wire, the battery ground to chassis wire, and battery ground to engine black wire. Also, look into replacing your stock battery with an optima yellow top. After all this, if it hasn't stopped, or decreased significantly...then you should look into an alternator upgrade.

Also, just to address this at the beginning...DO NOT get a capacitor (cap). It's a bandaid for a weak electrical system, and it only creates another load on your already strained alternator!

Good luck, peace.

i also noticed you have an 88 blazer. the first system i ever installed was in my 93 blazer and the amp was only a 300 watt rms amp and it ended up killing the alternator. not sure if this means anything but it could be that these cars had bad electrical systems, but anywho, again do the big 3 and go from there.

Great, thanks for the input! I will work on this tonight. I will let you know the result! Ya the price is good, I was septical but it really give loud sound.

Thanks guys

Just ignore these guys telling you an overrated amp is junk. Ratings are not everything. Sure, it's about 1/5 the power it advertised, but it's also a 1000 watt RMS amp for $155. Just take care of it, and maybe scratch off that 5000 watt rating off the top of the amp, so it doesn't hurt itself. =p
