Ever heard of DMT?
It's a powerful hallucinogenic that is found naturally in our brains, a couple plantsand the brains of most animals. It's never released in our brains except for one point in our life. That point happens to be the moment of death, and past that it's just people tripping out on a drug and seeing what they want to see. Christians and Catholics and most people born in the western world tend to see a light at the end of the tunnel, most Hindu's and Buddhist's find them selves entering Nirvana, and so on and so on.

Just that thought alone makes life after death seem all too possible, if no part of our body is responsible for creating our consciousness than maybe our conscious self won't die with our bodies but instead be freed.
