I can't seem to get the headunit to connect to the phone, let alone charge it. Is there something I have to open on the phone in order to hear something? I seletced the USB on the headunit and don't get anything.

Iphone works no problem.

The LG is android based. :\

The CDA-117 and most if not all head units with USB input are not going to read music off your Android phone. The head unit is not able to recognize your phone's memory even if it's set to USB Mass Storage mode. You can work around that by using an Ai-net to stereo minijack input adapter and use the phone's music player to control your audio.

I wanted to stream pandora, slacker and so on through a digital connection (usb) but I guess I'll have to go old school and use a 3.5mm jack from the phone to the stereo.

What about a KCE-400BT. Can I buy one of these and then stream pandora through bluetooth? This would be the same as USB but wireless correct? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
