it isn't a stereotype. it's the truth. hip-hop has been dead for close to 20 years. nobody wants to listen to soulja boy or wacka flacka.

lil wayne is the biggest hip-hop icon now & all he raps about is doing drugs, killin people, & bangin ******......

just like the other 17394756586467750923596 rap songs produced in the last 15-20 yrs.

none of that shit has any meaning whatsoever.

That's a stereotype right there, Just cause the majority is a certain way, doesn't mean 100% is that way.

While lil wayne does rap about crap like that, he's the number 1 icon because he is actually a talented "rapper" and is actually quite intelligent when he raps. I think he has potential to be a great artist, but has to go with the mainstream b.s. to be sucessful

HAHA! I've never listened to a Kanye album before this, let alone a song all the way through I believe. There are a few songs I skip, but some good tracks reminiscent of Jay-Z actually.

I've pretty much been 'studying' all of these guys over the years, and tried to keep up with as much current music thats coming out. Lets say I listen to a lot of damn music

I just can't get into any of the new stuff , sure it knocks but i can't relate to it. I don't sell crack anymore and driving a 30 year old car with rims the size of monster truck tires just seems stupid. and thats the majority of hiphop that i see and hear these days.

Rap/Hip hop is a genre of music, which is designed to express feelings. Unfortunately most new age people dont use it as they should anymore and they make stupid songs but regardless, thinking of it like that is just trying to kill the already dying expression of our generation.

In my opinion true hip hop lies with artists like Lupe Fiasco. Sick stuff. I do not think eminem is the greatest. If you are going to be the Greatest then you cant have ****** albums on your track record like he does. The one before last was stupid, as well as either curtain call or encore ( which ever one has azz like that and Fack and those other stupid songs ). Eminem is definitely sick though. Him and T.I's new song is sick as hell. Ive been diggin Tech N9ne and the rest of Strange music lately, even though i hate ICP. Been diggin into some old Twista and some older R&B like Do or die. Also love Bone Thugs.

Yeah, it's hard to find whole albums that you can listen to. I'll listen to some of that if I'm out cruisin town or just tryin to show off my system. But there are recent albums that tell some good stories as a whole. Idk, it could be because this is what I really grew up to.

Wiz is another stepping up. There are plenty of good lyricists out there, you just gotta look for them. Twista is always good to bust out, some of his songs never get old

I forgot about Wiz, ive been rockin some Black and Yellow. I also kinda like Wale, some of his songs seem good and other dont. Ive been rocking Overnight celebrity and Do you by do or die and twista.

Black and yellow is a hell of a song. I really enjoyed 'This plane' too. Off of category f5 'fire' was a good one from twista, one of I think the best smoking songs out.

lupe , tech n9ne , twista...........all good. eminem......he has mad talent but in my opinion he was a commercial ploy of dre's to get mass quantities of white listeners to buy records. but i still enjoy his pre-dre bootlegs and the first 3 and newest album. i guess dre's ploy worked. ;] but i do see this genre dying. no real talent anymore except for underground artists. the only ones that blow up are the ones that fit into the stereotype hiphop of today that i was talking about. and i like intelligence not ignorance. and the majority of this shi/t is ignorant as hell. case in point

all this does is fire up old stereo types that the white man is out to get a black man. dude i been to prison , there is just as many whites in florida prisons as blacks. this **** is just not true , yet he is popular so millions of little black kids are running around spewing this ignorance out of there mouths and they believe it. that is the worst part , they believe it.
