Let's get the *capacitor myth* tested on MythBusters!

It wont cure voltage throughout your entire system.. but more along the lines of HELPING maintain constant voltage to your amp... as ive witnessed personally, and read in many books my dad used when he was in the navy.

Something with a max peak output of 138db and a listed frequency response of 28 and up is HARDLY what I'd use to create loads of infrasonic bass, as said before.
While NO DOUBT an excellent choice for typical pro audio applications, I fail to see how that could be a good chioce for the task at hand.

But maybe you know something I don't.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
4 stacks of 3 of them...

24 woofers total. John Meyer was at a convention in vegas. He said they reversed polarity on the ones on the left so they wouldn't get cancellation from pointing them right at each other.

Peak SPL in the middle of that grouping was above 160db. That would do it.

You're kidding right? Have you ever heard of Meyer Sound?
http://www.meyersound.com/mseries/m2d-sub/

This is what they used. This is what they use in Stadium Concerts to blow people away.

See above reply Jim. You've never heard these before. They used exactly what they should have used for that experiment.

x2.

The Meyer sounds gear is AMAZING. John Meyer spoke here on campus, and I heard it was great.

Keep in mind the low frequency protection on all the units were removed as well... shit ask EhRon how redic those things are...

nG

Meyer sound is the shit.... I thought they used 700HP's but they are about the same thing as the M2D Sub... Here is the thing; Car Audio Subs will get louder in a closed space, IE a car. But, PA speakers are made for in the open, and such their boxes are designed for this. I would put a M2D sub or a 700HP or 600HP up against about anything for PA...

If I remember right from seeing that episode they were in a arc around a listening position, which with all of the coupling of the drivers it was plenty or audio “spl” to get the job done. If you think Meyer is crappy, then audio is the wrong hobby for you to be in… Why don’t you try model trains or painting….

at what frequency was it 160? If it was 160 in the single digits then I'll graciously shut the **** up.

I havnt read any threads about the caps. but i know that i had my cap hooked up and i was running 14+ volts constantly to my amp with it, and without i never even hit 14 volts. Hmmm..... what is bad about that? i dont under stand

You are most likely still overdrawing your alty....the cap is just covering it up....eventually your alty will blow with enough power...and you will kick the cap into the garbage can...

Caps wont help your alty, theyll probably speed up the killing process.. but your amp will be nice and happy!
Theres a good way to put it lol...
What powers your battery? The alty. What powers your Cap? GUESS WHAT, the Alty...more things to charge = more strain my friend...
