ID MAX 12, in a ~1.5 cube sealed box (probably), in an 03 Tundra ext. cab.

Suggestions? I'm looking for 800-1100 watts probably, or the most you guys think my stock alternator and battery can handle.

Oh yah, I have to be able to find it SOMEWHERE ONLINE FOR UNDER $375

Thus far I have considered the following:

Elemental Designs nine.1

Soundstream VanGogh 800.2, bridged to 800@4ohms

Audiobahn A12001DT

JBL GTO 1201.1

MTX Thunder 801D

I am of course open to any and all suggestions.

Dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm ...

You mention the Soundstream which would be good with a dual 2 ohm driver wired in series. Then you mention the MTX which does its power at 2 ohm, therefore needing a dual 4 ohm driver. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

$375 is a great budget ... should be able to walk away with something very nice.

eBay's fine by me. Never heard of Crossfire tho...would you recommend it over the eDesigns nine.1????

well the nine.1 is more power. they have been benched at around 1500 watts rms so that might be a little much for an idmax, but you do have a sealed box so it might be able to handle that power. crossfire makes very good amps. in my opinion they are up there with the best of them in there price range. they are underrated at 12.5 and i think i saw somewhere they were benched at 1330 watts rms. they are also not current hogs and shouldn't run down your electrical system. they make full power at 1 ohm so you would need a dual 2 ohm idmax.

the good thing with the idmax, it doesn't really need a lot of power, i'd say ideal power for it is around 800-900, i fed mine about 1000 watts and it start to wine a lil bit so i turned the gain down, good luck to ya, it's a great subwoofer

maybe i missed it, but what is your sub? dual 2 or 4

for $375, actually less, you could buy a like brand new MTX 1501D from Scottie Johnson. i have one of them in my truck, and i can vouch for the condition of the amps since i've personally handled just about everyone of them. might want to act fast though, i'm not sure he has a whole lot of them left

What about a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1? That is what I was planning to run my IDMAX on but am open to suggestions.

Either that or the JL 500.1, since I guess they bench somewheres around 700-800 Watts which would be a good range as above mentioned for this sub.

i have a nearly brand new cadence z9000 if you want it. 325 shipped. 04 model. 800 x 1 @ 4 ohm. under warranty till 9/4/05. i'm the original buyer. not being used right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well i would get the nine.1 b- stock amp, 275 for an amp that pushes 1500 watts at 1ohm, i know your goin to say that's 2 much power, but u can watch your gains, turn it up slowly till you hear your sub struggiling then turn it back a lil, i'm just recommending it just incase u ever upgrade to a bigger sub or go with a diffrent setup
