EDIT: and this is my thread and can be about anything I feel like. Specifically Amps since its in the amp section. So the 40.1 was the boner in my pants and the 3000d was listed because it was further info I felt to share. Im glad you feel like riding my nuts...Can we move on?

the bold part can be very misleading. Some may think that it was done w/ 16v. That would cause many to think the Sundown is very... weak.

The reason why I said it was being compared is because this thread should only be about the 40.1, but you posted info on the Sundown, which wasn't as clear as the 40.1's info.

Ahh... yes, I could see that. The Sundown was doing right at rated power at lower voltage at this guys wasn't setup with a lot of back end battery storage.

The sundown specs got put up a little bit ago...VERY respectable and what I'd expect to see at that voltage.

It might mislead possible customers, but at the same time, speaking as a current sundown 3k owner, i could not see this amplifier putting out 2800 watts at that ohm load at any voltage.. I don't know actual power i'm getting out of it, but i replaced a pair of amps that were ******* upward towards 500 amps and now have a manlove for zenon amplifiers.

Not my problem they dont want to read the whole thing. One of the other members posted some very nice numbers from them in this very thread...one would think after seeing his first reply you would read it all.

I don't believe the power difference is anywhere near that much if they were able to do an equal comparison, but they didnt have the option obviously..

I was told when considering my amp purchase (IA vs Sundown) that i will no doubt have extra power with the IA, but for a daily amplifier that could take a beating, I would be better with the sundown.. I'm not too sure about the warranty on IA, but i am sure about the warranty my sundown carries and it makes me feel better considering the car audio equipment is probably the most valuable equipment i own following my car.. I'm not saying anything bad about either company, and yes i'm biased towards sundown only because i personally like it

16v testing on the 3000D shows in the 5000s on output, scales pretty appropriately vs. the 40.1 as the voltage increases.

Most people do get over 3kw from the 3000D @ anywhere near 1 ohm -- could vary based on settings, input voltage, etc. I've heard from some of my street guys on 1 battery that they have clamped as much as 3700 each (Batcap 8400 on a pair of 3000s at 0.95 actual each).

I don't think the OP was trying to down the 3000D -- but perhaps the comparison wasn't the best based on the varying input voltage and whatnot. But I believe he did address that he didn't mean it in a negative way.
