Legal issues when installing

But your just a tad bit larger than I am. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Paying Ins. sucks when you never have to use it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
just a lil....but hell. A 300k day is a good day for us...some of the stores in VA have $1 million days pretty reguarly.

I don't know if we even use it as we usually hire someone to fix any mistakes. I think the ins is more for litigation purposes or something.

just depends man, i have seen people say shops take nice or not nice cars on joy rides...steal beer in vehicle or pot lol lets see worn breaks i have seen blamed on installers too...its just how people try to get over on you. if you charge money get insurance

it may help save you a little, but you would probably have to still pay half the damages or whatever. depends on the judge...
Make them get the shit notarized and give them a copy. If the judge has anything to say about that tell him to lick your nuts and repeal the case (assumeing he takes you to come sort of criminal court and not small claims) and then turn around and sue the *** sueing you for Time + Lawyer fees. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lawyers dont **** with notarized stuff most of the time.

appeal, wasn't sure if it were a typo or you didn't know....

Whenever I install equipment to friends. I tell them from the start, that if anything goes wrong after i have completed installtion properly do not come back to me and blame me if you did something retarded like mess with the gains or turn bass boost on. I usually tell them i can fix the problem, but i tell them it wasnt my fault

I've saw it happen a few times at work.

One time a guy had an amp installed, his car got broke into that same night. He told the cops that I did it, because I knew what was in his car.

Another time an installer pulled in a car and ran over a piece of abs plastic. The guy heard the piece get ran over, he then started claiming we popped his bald *** rear tire on a mustang. Dude came back 3months after the install with a bill from discount tire for a new tire... 300bucks, and for some reason we paid it... even thought it was three months after the install.

exactly. in this world you have to constantly worry about these things. the person i am installing the amp for is my friends brother...and its a nice bimmer and they live in a very nice house in a high class area. i dont want his car to start on fire and then burn the ****in house and possibly the ones around it down....when damages are in the millions, friendships turn to legal responsibilites...a responsibility i dont want to have or worry about. so i told him to have futureshop instal his amp and i will build the box and do the rest of the instal...therefor if anything electrical goes wrong, its not my ***:) . He knows i am totally capable of doing the instal, but understands the risk outweighs the reward.

Thats why when I help friends with installs I triple check everything and always use a wire thats more than the install needs, say the amp needs a 4 gauge I'd try to get them to get a 0 gauge run than 4 gauge distro. for remote I use 16 gauge. speakers 12 or better, and subs always 10-8. Costs more but no chance of shit burning due to wire being too small, plus chances to upgrade later .

werd, the parts of instals i do do, i check them constantly...even a few days/weeks after its been installed. but still, im not just talking about car audio things. If ANYTHING goes wrong, who do you blame? the last person who did any work on your car
