have you guys ever heard of a case where someone sues someone else because of a car audio related issue. lets say i was to instal a guys amp and then have something on his car go wrong a few weeks later...could be a blown fuse, popped tire, dead battery, whatever. and then he decides to sue me because i installed his stereo and i am just someone he can blame. ever heard of anything like this happening?

ahh yes i see that. ya i was just thinking about it today as iwas checking out the amp i picked up for a friend(new thread about it soon) and i got thinking about it. i would hate for something to go wrong, like i know i could do the job fine... but shit....stuff happens. and on a pretty nice bimmer...i dont want to take responsibility for it

If you don't know what you are doing, don't do it.

If you screw up an install and end up buring a guys car down, you could be in SERIOUS trouble. So unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing I would advise against it.

no no, i am confident that i can do it, and i know how to. however, in this sue happy world we live in, i dont want to take liability for anythign that goes wrong with his car. i jsut talked to him and i he is going to have futureshop run the wires and all that, and i am goign to build the box and whatnot. as for the waiver idea...it may help save you a little, but you would probably have to still pay half the damages or whatever. depends on the judge...

my friend sued Race and Rock in so cal, cuse they used a wire that was way too small, it cought fire and burned down his entire truck (f-250). got $9k outta it, Race and Rock is the worse shop I have ever been to, but yeah I know it happens.

I do it everyday, a lawsuit is the least of my worries. Although I suppose thats why I pay a premium for insurance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Our store pays more in insurance than 8 or 9 full time employees make per year. But I feel ya, we get killed on customer complaints then having to redo stuff.

Paying Ins. sucks when you never have to use it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
