Legacy Amp

if your saving up, why are you wasting money on a 10" pioneer and an legacy amp. I would say go a little longer with no bass in you car and save up for the system that you REALLY want.

keep that money, sell the 10 and save up further for the system you really want. i know you want some kind of bass in your car until you can get the system you want, but you will be much more happier in the end. anyways, legacy is trash and I wouldn't use one ever.

The typical "600 watt" pyramid/legacy is going to give you 100-120w.

IMO it's not worth the money or time to mess with it.

You can find decent used amps plenty big for a 10" on ebay for

profilecaraudio.com has some refurbs pretty cheap.

Get MTX blue thunder PRO 75x2 it does 280 x1 and you find them for $75 all day long.

Or something small from the classifieds here, legacy is about as rad a pyramid or BOSS amps, just waiting to release the magic blue smoke.

I got one of these on ebay for like $40 plus shiphttp://www.allaudioexpo.com/nav/details.asp?itemid=1372&catid=68

someone on here told me it holds like 900w at 14v, I think it was n2audio, could be wrong though
Yeah, it was a while back -- someone with no expectations of the amp had connections at some shop and they came up w/923w IIRC. Can't be sure on accuracy, but that's what the guy said.

Probably not the most reliable amp out there though.

BTW - do you still have it? Used it much? What are/were your thoughts?

Actually I really like it. I bought it for my beater. I had a 12" MTX Thunder 8000 on it 2.5cubes @ 32hz and it pounded hard. I trashed the MTX sub. I put in an Elevation Audio Execution 15 for a couple of weeks and ran it 2ohms bridged, it got hot but didnt shut off. Now its in my other car runing some bahns in a prefab @4 ohms bridged and it slams. Just have it in till I get my alarm in and my good gear. Im gonna keep it for a fill in amp. It doesnt even get warm. But also Im feeding it some good voltage, 120amp alt, big 3 in 1/0 and gel cell, it idles at 14.6 with everything in the car on. My volt needle moves very little when bumping but I havent had a chance to measure it sitting still bumpin. I thought about tryin to find some more used ones, like 3 more lol.

here it is in all its $40 glory. Actually best $40 (I think it was close to $60 with shipping) I ever spent. Oh and thats my 10min install before I had do drive over an hour to a car club meeting.

Oh and while I was there I spilled half a beer on it and it started smoking. I unhooked the wires and the next day it worked fine. Been working for 2 weeks fine.
