Left Channel louder than Right Channel?

I have some mb quart components hooked up to a Diamond D3400.4 amp. The left side sounds louder than the right side. Anybody know why? I used 2-channel RCA cables hooked up on the 4 channel amp. The balance from my headunit doesn't really work because I assume it's the 2 channel RCA's I'm using, but I do have the balance set to the middle. Is there another setting I play with on the amp to make the right side louder or left side softer? thanks!

^^^that could be it. but weird thing is that in my system, i had to adjust my balance to the left cause the right side was more dominant.

I'm using a 4 channel amp bridged to power my front components. The rear speakers are powered off my deck. When I adjust the balance, I'm not really sure what's happening but it doesn't go from right to left and vice versa. both sides still have sounds comin out when the balance is adjusted. How do i set the gains independently for each channel?

if you have a 4 channal bridge the only way to make it actaully go leftand right when you adjust the fade is to change the rca's. instead of one set going to the front inputs and one set going to the back inputs. do one rca plug per side. so there'll be the lefts on the front inputs and the rights on the rear inputs (or vise versa depnding on what actally makes it go left and right when you adjust it.

if it's still seemingly louder in one, and im Mean sustantially louder, check ur rca connections, try differant rcas cables, and hope it isnt something inside the amp thats not making a good connection....

if the loudness is just a liiiiil off, thats cause ur not sitting in the middle.....

ok i just verified that my left channel is definetely louder/being fed more watts. when i turn the system up with only my front component speakers on, the bass from the midrange woofer will start distorting while the right side speaker sounds fine. For a moment I thought my left speaker could be blown so i switched the left to the right and same results- the left side would sound distorted while the right side would sound ok.

Now does anybody know why the left side is being driven harder? I have the 2-channel RCA's connected to the Front- left/right outputs in the amp. The rear outputs are untouched.

most commonly people mistakes about the phases of each channel (electron paths). man you should check the cabling for + to speakers + and - to -. maybe the other channel cabled OK.

maybe replied too late lol

Yep, lil late. Im sure he got that problem solved 3 years ago.

But from his description, one side distortion sooner than the other, the problem was clearly a power issue, not a phase or perceived volume issue.

A lot of the recommendations in this thread were pretty pitiful. lol
