Late night TRoll Call

Was aquitted of all charges yesterday.
Oh that's BS...I can see 1 or 2 shots fired but 7???? Come the fuckk on that's friggin manslaughter. Cop got triggerhappy for no reason.

Like Shredder said, I'd be getting a lawyer over this. How can someone not be responsible for being shot 7 times when the person was reaching for his wallet?!

I'm sure the family is negotiating with several lawyers fighting to represent them in this case... this is a golden egg to a lawyer.

Not gonna disagree with you but dam....some people need to take responsibility for things like this. The fact that it got equitted....its complete BS

Grand juries are controlled by prosecutors and they work for the city/state and the city/state employs the cops... their family lawyer will be sure to point that out to the jury when this case is heard... I've been run over by a prosecutor before and they get their way most of the time... A civil suit will open this case up and give some transparency and media coverage... A lost civil case will make the state reexamine the criminal charges... it is B/S and a long process as the state will probably try to settle out of court... They will not want a jury verdict...

Yeah sounds like they want them to completely ignore it. Sorry pal, not gonna happen. The public should be outraged by this if they haven't already. Just because its a cop doesn't mean you should get away with it. You did the crime, you do the time.

If the cop thought he was gonna pull his gun; he should have backed off. That was an assault pure and simple. Bet he never saw the gun.
He got a reprieve at the grand jury... that much seems certain. Those affairs are one sided dog and pony shows in favor of the prosecutors... and the cops and prosecutors are on the same side... It'll be another story once this mess goes to a civil court... sounds like criminal charges should be revisited eventually... this was far from a training/procedure issue and I'm sure the grand jury was only allowed to consider certain evidence. Most citizens do not realize that you can ask any question during a grand jury but are allowed to only weigh certain facts pertinent to the case as it is presented.

When I get pulled over, I always grab my wallet, registration, and proof of insurance before the cop gets to the window....

Why would you not? You know the first thing the cop is going to say.... "License and registration please."

Still, I agree 7 shots is excessive.

I'm going to get my concealed carry in two years. I don't understand all these fatal shootings of people without guns. If you shoot someone in the leg or hip, they're not going to be able to come after you. If you shoot someone in the arm, they won't be able to shoot back at you. It would take two shots to incapacitate someone. Even if they got away, they would have to go to the hospital, where they would be apprehended.

The idea is to shoot to stop the threat. In life/death situations, you don't try to aim for the legs, you shoot for center mass to stop the threat. I've seen video of a guy getting shot in the chest and he still managed to get back in his car and drive off. got about 1/4 mile before he bled out. Unless you shot in the leg and hit bone and shatter it, you will most likely still be able to move if you are shot in the leg. In great pain, but still able to move.

If someone has a knife, I'm going to shoot them in the arms/legs or possibly the stomach. If they have a gun, you're right the chest would be better.

When in that situation, and the adrenaline starts flowing, accuracy is not what you would expect. Most people unless they have trained regularly and have that muscle memory are going to freeze up or be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn. Most of these type of engagements happen within 10-12 ft. at that range, shooting someone in the leg or arm is difficult and likely ineffective at stopping them from cutting you open.
