unfortunately, the original installer used 18 gauge speaker wire. law exams in 20 days, so i'm not about to take my doors apart for the first time in my life.
i figured it was going to be difficult to split the strands of 18g speaker wire, so i used some extra Tsunami " Ultra High Performance Oxygen Free 12 AWG Subwoofer Cable" and did all the splicing using two 1 ft. long pieces of wire.
I know it wont do anything to help improve the overall current/wattage handling capabilites, because it will still only be as strong as the 18 gauge wire that will go almost all the distance from the trunk to the doors.
however, this wire is no joke. it was much easier to split, the strands are almost impossible to break, or even accidentally cut a few. if u check out this link to the microsoft paint diagram i did, i would appreciate it. i just wanna make sure that, considering the financial consequences of blowing one of my morel drivers, i dont leave anything to chance.
