laptop ---> receiver

i normally play music off my laptop via a yellow and black RCA cable that plugs into my receiver and the other end connects into the head phone jack on my laptop.

somebody must have tripped on the line and it broke the headphone jack on my laptop. it went from where i had to hold the plug in there so music would play, to now its so bad it only plays static.

is there another cable i can hook up from my laptop to my receiver that doesnt use the headphone jack? if theres more than one option, is there one i should favor over another?

any help is appreciated.

oh, and my laptop is a dell xps m140, not sure if that helps at all.

now, should i be looking for an external or internal? difference between the two?

it looks like external plugs into a USB port? which would probably be a lot easier.
