laptop for termlab

I'm getting a laptop this week and once I buy a termlab in the future this laptop I buy will be used with it. Anything I want to avoid when I make my purchase so the termlab can function well? I'm buying used. all help would be appreciated

i have a TL on a Toshiba and the thing wont work for some odd reason, maybe its the chipset on the mobo... my dell inspiron 9300 runs it like a champ though. Maybe go to termpro and check out the termlab section for known issues with certain mobo's etc?

I've got my eye on an HP on CL. only thing that worries me is the ram (512mb).

I didn't like using Vista and termlab software, Xp was much better for me. Vista uses too much resources without any help.

guy just called me, had another laptop with 1gb ram so I'm gonna get that one! now I just need to save up for a termlab

Just crack the back open (screws) and take out the old and put the new in...easier to get to than a desktop

but yeah for XP you dont need a ton of RAM, but it is cheap anyways

its easier to install, but its harder to find RAM that works for ur laptop. I've looked into upgrading RAM on my HP, but there's only like 1 or 2 that would actually work and they're really expensive.

Just make sure its a 32 bit system on the laptop, lots of problems if the laptop is new and its 64 bit.

just go grab an acer aspire one...brand new at walmart for 318 out the door. compact and still great specs..and runs on xp.
