lanzar optidrive 2500d amp questions

anyone of you guys ever tried out this amp before? any pros and cons. and of course this is another old school amp circa '96, just wanted to get your feedback on it. so far i from what i read is all good stuff on it, but it loves lots of current.

Heard of the Lanzar Opti 2000D but Opti 2500D?!

You sure you don't have the Opti 2000D confuse with Orions 2500D?

if it's circa '96 it must be the 2500, not 2500d

that was rated 250x2 at 4, 1000x1 bridged, and probably 1200+ on the bench

if its the black 2500, then thats the original model

and they are AWESOME (ive owned two) should have kept em

do power EASY, dat cool, but the harder you drive them , they can get hot

if you find one and dont want it, let me know Ill take it

well, i picked one up from the original owner, still in the box with papers, think i got it at good price. the pile of old school amps been piling up, just another one to add to it.

while i was reading the manual on the specs, it was 1000w bridge at 4 ohm @ 12v( thd 0.01%), but its 2020w @ 14.4v, i know most manuf. company test and rate their amps with 14.4, so for those that have used this amp, didn't seem that high of wattage at 14.4 while the car running with dual batteries.

yeah that means 2x500. it prob wasnt pushing that power. lanzars ratings dont make any sense. in their lowest ohm load, they usually give a max rating. also, going by amp guts, they seem to have the once in a lifetime results on some of their amps they show. id have to see the test to see that thing do over 2000 watts.

You clearly have NO knowledge of Lanzar's amps of that era.

2000 does indeed seem a bit optimistic, but Lanzar's current offerings have NOTHING in common with the '03 and prior models. Not the designer, not the builder, not even the continent.

Those were extremely under-rated amps, and will often still sell for 200-300. I'd be shocked if that amp doesn't do 1200w comfortably, and not surprised if it's 1500 or better.

i was just reading the specs off the manual, where all the specs listed.

those wattages are ' dynamic power ratings (ihf202 standard) at 14.4dc per lanzar

gonna have to do that, zed will definityly have the answer, and sure wouldn't hurt to know the real deal compare to the specs sheet.

I think you mean prior to 1997, that is right about when Pyramid (Sounds Around) bought them.
