so whats that mean that the opti2000d is fused to 180 amp? and my alt will be 250 amps? does that mean that my amp will cover the power?

let me get this right, you can change an alternator but not crimp connections on the end of 3 wires, undo 6 bolts, attach the crimped connectors, and retighten the bolts? bit 3 is extremely simple to do, and you're wasting money on an upgraded alternator if you dont do it.

Wasting money on an entire vehicle too. Small gauge + high amperage =

no its more of on the lines of my dad is paying for anything that involves the motor so therefore hes buying my alt for me so i dont wanna put out the extra cash for the big 3 when the alt will cover it for me. so in the end it saves me money.

you dont understand... the big three is pretty much a requirement for your ho alt...

dude you're talking about MAYBE 10 feet of wire under the hood. order it from weldingsupply.com, maybe a 20 dollar order.

ill just order it online. easier. didnt realize it was that cheap i thought it was real expensive but since its that cheap im deff gunna do it.

Yea you'll need 1/0 for 250A. Its a requirement when upgrading your alt.

yea ur stuck at .5 or 4 ohms.

You will be fine running @ 2 with 800 to each sub. I gather your still kinda new at this, so that will be plenty of power for now. Dont spend alot of cash right now. Run it at 2 and do the big 3 in 1/0. Save your money and time for when you wanna upgrade to better subs.

The opti only does 1100 @ 2, not 1600.

im new but i wanna get a really good system for my first. after i get tired of this im prolly gunna go with RE or some other brand that i have been hearing alot of good things about. this is just to start me off.
