Lanzar's old, original Opti-drive amplifiers were top notch. Outstanding pieces. I haven't followed them recently, are the newer ones really so shabby?

for some reason I kept thinking the OP was looking for an amp... I was at work when I first saw the thread. As far as subs, you can do a lot better than the ones listed originally for the price. Keep an eye on the classified section for some good deals. If you are patient, you will be able to find something nice for around your budget. I think someone is selling a pair of JL 12W3V2s for $150, that would be what I would get for your budget.

that lanzar sub is a bad azz woofer whether ppl say it is or not. def not a bad choice at all. my bro runs two of those and they get dam loud. hes hit 151 in a tacoma off of an OPTI 2000D at .5 ohms

lol sorry about that... my brain gets kinda toasty after a day at the office... but don't skimp on your system. Trust me, it would be worth your while to save up and do it right the first time, instead of getting some mediocre stuff you aren't happy with at first and upgrading several times.

Take your time, read the forums and ask questions, that's what we are here for, and that's how you learn what is good, and what isn't.
