I was actually gonna try one as a temp setup until I have enough money to buy my 3518e. The surrounds are foam. It looks like a pure spl sub. But, I'm not really sure if its any good or not...I'm thinking not a good choice for a long term setup.

yea i was thinking of just having these for lik a year or so you know

i just dont want them to blow after a week

I don't think it will take rated power. Maybe 800wrms. I haven't really read any reviews but I watched a few youtube videos (lol) and It seems like a decent sub. The people that have them seem to think they are under-rated by other people. I will found out in a week or so. Hopefully, I will have the funds to get the amp, speaker, and build the box.

If it turns out to be shit I will only be out $50 so w/e. I can see it to a pawnshop for the same as I paid most likely.

I was going for the BAMF5500D as well. From what I hear the amp will do 2000-2500wrnms @ 1ohm. Which should be plenty for the subs and a little room left over to keep the distortion low. I knew that the sub was rated for 1000wrms but i don't think it could take all of that to be honest. I'm getting it from millionbuy because I am also buying the amp there for ~$270 and you get shipping for free for anything over $100 dollars if i remember correctly.

dont get the max pros, they **** BAD. Instead get the max st's, still trash, but better. You can get a pair on ebay for $130 (15's)

What do you mean max st? Lanzar only has the MAX and the MAX PRO series subwoofers. There is no ST series unless you mean this

IT SAYS MAX ST on the cone. I've owned both. The max pro blew in 5 mins off 600 rms. The max st sounded like shit but lasted for a while. They both sound like shit.
