Lancer Evolution 8

Oh, and the Evo IX is quite a bit updated from the 8.

The Subaru reliability concerns were often in the *****, something that the STi's 6speed seems to not suffer from. A lot of high performance STi's are doing fine on the stock ******.

And Mitsubishi isn't known for reliability either. They can make good cars but experiences always differ. If you'd like mine, I've owned 3 Mitsu's technically. The first was an Eagle Talon AWD (same as Eclipse) which turned into an electrical nightmare due to multiple failures, the next was a Lancer Ralliart for a daily which went through 5 transmissions (one due to failure, the rest due to incompetant mechanics) and now a Galant VR-4 which has been the most solid of the bunch and the one I do the most work to. My Galant is the oldest I've owned as well. Really a hit or miss sometimes with used car's previous owner's maintenence. New cars always have the slight chance of being a lemon.

i test drove the sti and i diden like the way it felt it dosent seem to do turn as good as the evo and the brakes arent as good as the evo also. i think im going to get the evo because i like how it looks and it just feels better when i drove it. but both are good cars but il take the evo.

Well thats all that matters really. But as Eugenics said...if your only concerned with straightline speed, your really wasting your money. Not to knock your driving ability, but do you really know what to feel for when driving?

what kinda performance are you supposed to be worried about. how offten do you take a car to autocross type track. thats the stupidest shit i have ever heard. if you are daily kinda driver and like to go fast all that batters is how fast it goes in a strait line. im sorry to say but this aint tokyo drift. how a car handles on dirt and how good it feels while its sideways never comes into play for 99 percent of people. and if you are that one percent you are probly not hangin out on a car audio forum.

the evo must have some nice brakes. cause the ones on the sti look like monsters. and just incase you cant tell that says brembo.

for me .. if i had the money .. i would swap my 1ZZFE engine and put in a 3S-GTE in my corolla .. and have it as a daily raper .. =) .. my corolla is stock and i **** around with G35's =0

Nice car, but the interior is a piece of ***... It may be turbocharged, intercooled, and fitted with some nice brembos, but deep down inside.... it's still just a Mitsubishi Lancer.
who cares about the interior its about performance not howi t looks in the inside.

if thats the case save the $20-$25k that it cost and get a plymouth laser with about $10-$13k in mods and it will pretty much embarace both the sti and lancer..but the inside has to appeal to you..thats where you spend 100% of the time when driving it..if you want speed and something nice inside..id get a comaro ss with about $3-$5k in mods you can easily have it in the 11's or low 12's or cobra aka the terminator..or hell even a lightning for less then $1500 in mods your lookin at 12's #4pulley,chip,tune and a ftvb with traction bars is a must and your good to go..lots of cars out there better then sti and lancer..just look around man.
