Oh, and the Evo IX is quite a bit updated from the 8. The Subaru reliability concerns were often in the *****, something that the STi's 6speed seems to not suffer from. A lot of high performance STi's are doing fine on the stock ******. And Mitsubishi isn't known for reliability either. They can make good cars but experiences always differ. If you'd like mine, I've owned 3 Mitsu's technically. The first was an Eagle Talon AWD (same as Eclipse) which turned into an electrical nightmare due to multiple failures, the next was a Lancer Ralliart for a daily which went through 5 transmissions (one due to failure, the rest due to incompetant mechanics) and now a Galant VR-4 which has been the most solid of the bunch and the one I do the most work to. My Galant is the oldest I've owned as well. Really a hit or miss sometimes with used car's previous owner's maintenence. New cars always have the slight chance of being a lemon.
