Lancer Evolution 8

if thats the case save the $20-$25k that it cost and get a plymouth laser with about $10-$13k in mods and it will pretty much embarace both the sti and lancer..but the inside has to appeal to you..thats where you spend 100% of the time when driving it..if you want speed and something nice inside..id get a comaro ss with about $3-$5k in mods you can easily have it in the 11's or low 12's or cobra aka the terminator..or hell even a lightning for less then $1500 in mods your lookin at 12's #4pulley,chip,tune and a ftvb with traction bars is a must and your good to go..lots of cars out there better then sti and lancer..just look around man.
i dont care that much about the interior im going to be using it for performance not how nice the interior looks. this is going to be my second car so its not going to be for everyday driving, im mainly going to be using it for racing in Irwindale speedway. ive got my impala ss for everyday driving.

depending on how much money you got to burn then id look into a grand national with twin turbo system..i saw a video on one on a dyno put out around 1000hp and had the turbos sticking out from the hood..looked sick..

sounds cool but i dont have that much money to be spending.

The EVO has the same power plant as the talon and the eclipse which is the 4G63 with a better turbo and manifold. If you want to go fast for cheap go with a 1g dsm the thing that makes the EVO stand out is the handling. There's not really a point in buying a new car and tearing it apart to make it fast your voiding the warraty and ripping off parts you paid for.

there is plenty that makes the evo different from the lancer besides just cosmetics, engine/drive terrain, and interior enhancments. just so you dont make yourself look like an ***.

sti would be my choice, or else get an evo MR

your the ***..go tell me where i said the evo and the lancer is the same..lol

I love the STI and the EVO, but at the Dragstrip last thurs. I was in the 02 Grand cherokee and running in the high 8's and wasted an STI.

Guy could'nt really launch off the line but it he bout shit his pants when a Jeep beat him.

BTW its Grand Cherokee Overland with a 4.7HO and a 175 shot and few other goodies.

The Evo vs. STi debate is always a funny one. Especially when people have no real experience with either car.

I love both cars but the argument can be simplified for me with a simple question.

"Are you going to modify the car and how extensively?"

The Evo, for the most part is much easier to modify, already has a FMIC and such. If you want a crazy fast track car, get the Evo. If you want a badass daily driver that won't be modded like crazy, get the STi.
