Hello I have a jd1000 on 2 brand new kicker L7S in a dual box it hits but not really hard I have a ford edge suv is it just underpowered? I have 4 gauge wire
I set the gains with an oscilloscope the wiring seems fine I think it’s underpowered don’t get me wrong it hits still but I thought it would be harder I just received a new amp the kicker cxa 1800 that should work.It looks like 1500rms total which is 750rms each sub. Description says it’s wired to 2 ohm. If you changed the wiring and made it 8 ohm that’d make a difference.
I think the goal is to be between 20% over or under on wattage supplied by the amp.
If that jd puts out 1000 at 2 ohm you’re really 33% under par at 2 ohm.
May want to double check wiring and double check gain setting.
Yeah I’ll let u know I know 1800 is too much can those subs handle 900 a piece though? There should be a noticeable difference between those two amps. You might want to turn that new amp down a little, but maybe not. Let us know how the new amp works out for ya.

It hits hard in my brothers car but I notice in a suv you need more powerPrefab box is probably not doing you any favors..
wow double isn’t that too muchIt will be fine.. I like to run double RMS of my subs.
Let me ask do u think I need a capacitor or an alternator with that thing amp or am I good stock? My alternator is 150 amps.
