L7's **** for high notes?

in my friends truck he hs an L7 and he has the box tunedat 35 hzannd he built it himself. also he may have a damaged amp but assuming these things arent effecting his subwoofer do l7's sucka t highs? becuase his high notes are very quite and you cant feel it at all however my polk db212-2's blurr ur vision on highs.

The response of any sub is totally dependant on the enclosure that its in, and L7's can put up 70hz tones at 150 db in the right enclosure. Personally I love the sound of L7's tuned high, but thats just a prefernce of mine since ive competed with them before.

to the original poster, you really cant compare the output of two totally different enclosures and subs and use it as a baseline for what your expecting. You and your buddy need to re-examine the enclosure specs for the L7 box, and make sure that your turning is correct. Also, if you can get access to a termlab you could see what a tone sweep is doing in the car, and what the box/vehicle resonance fequency that its peaking at. Good luck.

ok? I'm not as experienced like snoopdan.

But just for thought where does it say in kickers technical manual that this sub is designed for 34 Hz. If they were designed for 34Hz, then why does kicker recommend a tuning frequency or 37Hz, in their tech manuals?
