well guys.. what do you think? im between the two right now and im assuming they would be pretty close.

i can get the premiers a little cheaper than the L7s if theyre just as good, but im looking for the most spl so if the L7s would give me the edge then its worth the extra cash. space would be in the 5 cube range and tuning would be in the low to mid 30s

i have 1200 watts right now but im selling it for the bx1605d so that ill have 1600 watts, which is plenty for both sets of 12s.

just curious as to what you guys think since most of you know more than i do anyways

I have one L7 12 in a 3.5cub box with 400 wats and it is lode as hell i cant wate to get a new amp i bought the sub for $150.00 from hifisoundconnection.com for that price you cant go wrong and pm polecat he helped my out he might be ablel to tell you witch one is the best four you

I believe the L7s will be OVERALL louder, but the pioneers will probably go lower and deeper. JMHO.
Cough Cough those Pioneers will not go lower and or deeper then the L7's. Your not going to get a better SPL sub for the price. Kickers L7's have won tons of competitions (more then pioneer subs) strictly because they are nothing but SPL subs with a tad bit of SQ, depending upon the box.

I also have a biast opinion as being a person who has had two Kickers for the last year and haven't had any reason to change yet. Which I finally am this summer mainly because I'm going for a stricly SQ based system.

Those Kickers are the way to go in my opinion and they hit extremley hard. You won't be dissapointed when your setting off car alarms next to you.

SPL is usually in the 40hz range and up..........those pioneers drop into the 20hz area easily. Like I said, the Pioneers will probably go lower. I have owned Pioneer and Kicker subs and the Pioneers went lower in every case. NOW.....the Kicker did have more punch and got louder at a bit higher frequency.

I love my 2000SPL's if that helps, and they are definitely noticabally louder underpowered than a pair of Kicker CVR's powered properly...

but I have not heard a pair of L7's to compare

A guy I work with has a set of the Pioneer SPL's, each one only getting about 150 rms, and they get surprisingly loud, considering they are in a very small sealed box, with about 1/3 of their RMS power......

The two L7 setups Ive heard have been pretty ghetto, wouldnt put much stock in them.

Having said that, Id go with whatever you can get a better deal on, as each will get loud.

ok guys thanks.. looks liek L7s are best for this ap. sounds liek theyll be the loudest.. and as far as going low, ill build my box to where ill get good SPL into the 30s. i dont kthink ill be tuning at 40 hz like kicker recommends. too high for my tastes. im sure a 5-6 foot box with 33 hz tuning and 1600 watts wont have a problem getting low.

thanks again

Looks like a good setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

i have the 2000spl's and they are very loud even in a sealed box, i have heard 1 l7 12 pushed by an 800rms rf amp, and it was movin like crazy, but you wasn't very loud......but both subs WILL get loud, so i say what ever you get the best deal on.........
