LOL, have you ever seen or heard an MTX 8500 or 9500 series? I highly doubt that if you can say that...

thanks... eheh... i'm not really worried about space... my next worry would be my alternator... lol... gonna have to upgrade my alternator soon... lol...

I have had both the 10 L7, 12 L7 and the 8500 12.

I liked the 8500 better. Better sound quality and took my JBL BP 1200.1 better than either L7. I ran them all at 4 ohm. L7's burned up. 8500 lasted for over a year till I sold it to try something else. If I could fit the 8500 in my new truck, I would consider it again.

L7 got a little louder, but not by much. 8500 had waaaaaaay better sound quality.

Well if one driver is better than nother on paper wouldn't it be safe to asume it is capable of performing better in real world conditions? And dont start with the crap about how the car or enclosure can make the difference. Because if a sub which can perform better on paper is put in an optimum setting and the sub which was inferior is also put in its optimum setting the results will stay the same.

Yes I realize just about any sub can sound bad in the wrong setup and have a lower quality sub sound better than it. But when you pull all the variables out and just measure the sub on its own physical characteristics the black and white specs printed on a piece of paper can tell you what is or isnt better.

To me this is just common sense. Anyone else agree?
