LOL, have you ever seen or heard an MTX 8500 or 9500 series? I highly doubt that if you can say that...

Not only the 85 and 95 series but for the money even the 5500 series is a great performer. And dont forget about the rfl. I mean how many other companies have had a single model be so dominant in spl compitition for as long as this one has. Aside from maybe the stroke and a couple others i cant think of any.

And to the people that think the jackhammer is just a marketing gimmick and its a p.o.s. you need to pull your heads out of your a$$es and do a little research on the woofer. It truely lives up to all the hype of being the baddest woofer on the planet.

And you fall for all this? Mtx is going to try to make themselfs look better than any other company on their own website. That link was worthless.
Umm why wouldn't I believe this. They are using kickers very own published specs. So how is the link worthless? I think you are just not open to accepting the fact that these woofers really do perform better than the l7.

That link has some merit but being that it only talks about 2 measurables and not about any thing else I think it HAS TO BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT

PWNED.

Have fun using an L7 for SPL comps.. several posts on here about L7's having problems being run for SPL comps.. See if you find many problems on the 85/95 having any problems being ran for SPL.

the reason i'm going for L7 06 this time is because currently i have 3 7500 powered by 81001A... although the 7500 "sounded loud" (i metered it and got 143.2db), but somehow, i feel bass was kind of sloppy... i was thinking of getting an 8500 before, but considering the L7 was $100 cheaper, so i guess i could go and try for the L7... furthermore, my current goal is no longer to achieve high Db, but just as long as it "sound loud" and more clarity... hmm... well... you could say i'm going for sql now... i think... eheh... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Actually mtx was correct on the power ratings. You may want to go back and take a closer look. They are not talking about the 216's. They are using the 5 1/4 the pce213. And I know the quarts have a titanium tweeter but isnt the WPC you talking bout just Wet Powder Coating? And I didnt know they used titanium for it.... nor did i find mention of it on mb q's website. Also I think the joke about the plastic is because you would expect something a little better than plastic on a 500 dollar component speaker. But I really dont have an answer for the add on mid bass driver. Unless it is newer than when this side-by-side comparison was made.
