L7 true power handling

how much power can the 15" L7s actually handle? alot of people said they are under rated at 1000 watts rms. some people hooke them up to an orion 2500D and said they barely move!
If there the 06 model they can probally handle 1000 - 1500, a piece, and as for the orion 2500d i highley doubt that could happen

i was gonna get a brutus hifonics bxi2200d. it does 2200 watts rms at 1 ohm which would be enough to power them good. but what i'm thinking about doing is getting two hifonics brutus bxi1800d's that put out 1800 watts rms at 1 ohm each. and even if they are overrated it'll still put out about 1600 watts for each sub which would make them pound.

eh...the RMS ratings haven't changed at all for any of the 06 solo barics... although they are now probably underrated... the 15"s should still use that amount of power efficiently. if theyre ported that should get stupidly loud...

have you talked to polecat?

My 06 15 l7s have no problem taking 2kw daily from each of them... Yes i said it, from each.. Ive been running them for a few months now, and ive been trying to torture them, but the more i do, the more they like it.. Ive burped them various times for over 1 min straight, and they take it like champs.

I have an exile 2400.1 at the moment, and 2 15 d4 l7s. The amp is 3kw burpable for spl, and im driving it into hard clipping for testing purposes, and these suckers wont give. I have even taken one of them out, built a box for it, and put 2kw on it with my friends jbl crown 2200.1 amp, and we have pounded on it for weeks. Takes it like a champ. If the signal is clean, i cant see why it should hold up just fine with 2kw . These are much better than last years models.. My last year models couldnt even dream of holding up with this amount of power/ abuse ive put them through. Polecat even hinted to me that they should be fine with that amount of power, so i took his advance, and havent looked back sense..

amn....ive heard plenty of storries about the older L7's not handleing anything over 1000wrms with fried voice coils...but thats good kicker is comign around and putting some quality back in thier shit

i have seen 15 inch L7's get blown through with a quickness. both the 05 and the 06 models with a kicker 1200.1 with a birthsheet of like 1500 rms. And you can ask any shop that sells them how offten people bring them back blown and want to get the warrenty served.

With a highly clipped signal any sub can be blown with a quickness.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The fact of the matter is the new models can take some serious abuse, and anybody thats blowing them quickly doesnt know how to set gains.
