L7 question

Im almost set on buying 2 15 inch L7's. I was wondering. How do u make them sound good while Still getting the output from them. They will be getting about 1000 watts each. Im had a 15 inch brahma and i am told that was 50/50 Sq SPL so im thinking i wanna go like 40/60 Sq spl. Ive been told they can get really low and sound halfway decent if setup right. Ive also seen people saying these subs have been optimized for sealed boxs.... is that true.. Ive been looking at the recommended boxs from Kicker and they are tuned from 37-40 hz..... that seems a bit high. I have the room. just wondering what i should do.

I am not an expert on boxes of that size but would guess that you would need atleast 5-6 cu ft. of sealed box to get a medium range of volume and Sq. Smaller than that would make the Sq a bit better perhaps. My kicker sounds great ported, but the box for them would be pretty big like about 10 cu ft. IMO

They will bump no matter what.

if you want SQL, do 2.25 ported per driver, tune to 35-38hz...

really tune it that high..... will it still hit the lows? And how would the SQ be if i port them both 2.25?

and only 2.25 thats alot less then kicker recommends. Would i be better off with liek 3 Kicker CRV's or something.... 15's sealed as far as SQ goes

2.25 ported will offer some SQ and SPL, that's not really that high...actually lower than what we state on the web....but you can tune lower if you prefer.

sounds like youre giving him recommendations for L7 12s.. just wanted to make sure you saw hes talking abotu 15s.. cause usually you recommend 4-4.5 cubes each and low 30s tuning for the 15s.

im thinking about getting a single L7 15 and my box would be 4.5 cubes tunes to 27 hz i think.. but im a fiend for low bass

Think i would be better off getting 2 15's? How loud do u think tthat would get......louder then the L7's and still sound better...... Box depenent blah blah with probley either te opti running at .5 ohm giving over 2000 watts or maybe 2 vipers 1 to each sub

sorry, 15's...4.5 each if you can fit, if not, a minimum of 3.0/3.25 per driver.
