L7 Firing Up In Trunk. Pics

Umm, I don't pay for food
Ok I have a weird situation. BTW, that is not my trunk...lol

I want to build a box for 2 12" L7's. I have the MAX dimensions of 53" deep, 33" wide and 14" Tall

The rear deck swoops down into my trunk and limits back half of my trunk to 14" so...Can I build a really deep box, and have my Subs firing upwards?

Here is my trunk, the silver/goldish overhang thing is 14" front the trunk floor, but only lasts 1/2 the trunks length.

Near the back of my trunk (back as in where the back seats are) I hang this over hang thing that sticks done and make the back half of the trunk only 14" High. After the over hang piece cuts off, from the floor of the trunk to the trunk lid i have like 22". Could I make a box 14" high, and make the box really deep wit the port facing toward the front of the trunk (towards the taillights) and the L7's on the top of the box? Would the L7's have enough space to excurd and push the air?

Ahhh .. what?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

yeah, subs up sounds bad in my trunk too.

i have the same situation with the rear deck limiting my box height to 14"

i'd just build the box to stop 6" or so from the tail lights and fire the subs that way.

aiming subs to the rear of the car prevents reflected (read echo) cancellation of the sound waves entering the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Unless a front firing sub is completely sealed from the trunk you will ALWAYS experience this problem...

fire em at the taillights.

Thats what I have my 3.5cu footer doing right now. Its loud on bassy songs (air forces ans such) but the punchy bass sucks, that is probably my midbass lacking (still don't have my second midbass back yet...). I hope the second L7 will add some more punchiness. After installing the mids and adding a second L7, I will sell the 1500d and buy a true 1500+ wrms amp to get sufficient power to each.

and in my car... firing up was alot louder, and sounded better than firing back. While firing up, the port fired to the passenger side of the car. while firing back, it was sub and port back...-This was with my HC when I had it, not the mag. its not installed yet =[
