Alright so the L5's aren't loud enough for me anymore.. with $350 max including shipping.. what sub(s) would you put on a hifonics bx1605d?

i would buy a new amp. you don't have the power for those just get a 2nd 1605.

also i'm not sure what isn't loud enough for you? i've heard and owned a setup of an L5 15" that did upper 140's off 800 watts so there is potential there.

i like those hd3's... i just saw a video of a 15" hd3 in a trunk of a car in a 7sq ft box that was bolted down in 15 places still made the box jump/shake...

still would be more then enough for 2 500watt rms subs

I ran a hifonics 1000 on the same L5s in a 6cube box got a 141 with that so i would hope his amp would be enough

L5's can take 1kw easily. 1300 @14.4 and from what i've been told the hifonics lose a ton of power with under 13.5.

on score/power setup i ran a ma audio amp the chrome blingin' one with the volt meter on it @2ohm running 750rms and popped a 148.4 with 1 15" so it's all in knowledge.

IMO, sell the hifonics and get a good amp.

how many watts can the old L5s take, i know the new ones can take more, but i dont know about all this power some of you are talking about

try a bigger box too, how much port area do you have now?

if yuou just want new subs anyway, get an 18 of something, maybe try to find a used XXX orSX 18
