I have an s-10 with a large blowthru cut behind the bench seat(its a standard cab).ive had alot of set ups in this truck,including 10in L5 on kx600.1 ,then an AQ 2.5 15 on the same kx600.1(that was a pretty loud set up.then i changed it all to RF.Not a bad thing i got a good deal on a bnib p1000bd amp and 2 bnib p3 12s 08 models for all.that set up banged the hardest yet.now i wanted some higher spl #S off my p1000bd so i got a 15"L5 to be delivered on 9/4. it was reletivly cheap i thought for 169 shipped w/90day warr..its a refurb,anyways i wanted some cheap spl.i will have the square cone and the port area both firing directly into the cab.does anyone have any box size and port area plus tuning that you'd like to share with me to help me meet my goal.im married with children so the installs come about 1x a year,and even that comes at a price(married folks know what i mean)so id like to get it right the 1st time for a 140 or higher score.i will have this tl for my first ever testing.i know i got the power 1215@1 ohm,i know the sub is only rated @750 but theyll take more as my 10 in took nearly double for 2 years and never thought twice about it.my thoughts are 4 cubes 64 inches of port tuned to 38 hz.port and sub will be on the same side of the enclosure firing into the cab.the reason i dont have higher score expectations is because a regular cab picup has the worst accoustic properties out there.I think its like 8 db down from a hatchback if both had same set up.so anyhelp will be appreciated for my 1x a year build.
