The ratings are 1.2kw rms vs 1.6kw rms. Not knowing how accurate they are which amp is actually better?

The kicker has a way better build quality. Not to mention those amps will produce about the same output, Hifonics amps do about 80% of their rated power (around as where kicker amps are usually underrated.

i would personally take the kx1200 over the bxi1606d. im not saying the hifonics amp is weak but as stated earlier, Kicker has a much better build quality. Also take note that Kicker amps are underrated. I've seen birth sheets by Kicker that produce 100-200 more watts than what the amp is rated.

Hifonics is a good amp. I bought a BXI1206d but never used it but i've heard a lot of good things about Hifonics. If i had a choice between the two i would pick the kicker hands down. Although Hifonics is a good amp, it doesn't put out rated power, the kicker does.... and then some...

What do you all think about the MTX TA7801? It is rated at 1200wrms and the product is discontinued but retailed at $850 last year... How do you think this amp would compared to the other two mentioned?

The MTX is underrated as well if you trust birthsheets, I have seen them at 14-1500 on the birthsheet for the MTX.

And you can get them for $250 all day

first off. most people believe the birth sheets are bs.

secondly. obviously most people here aren't familiar with both brands (as in actually using them) I have used both (850.2, 1206d) I'd take the Hifonics over kicker personally. MUCH smaller amp (the kicker was just stupidly large) hifonics runs at 1 ohm and doesnt even get warm. I've banged full blast for about 30 minutes and it didnt even get hot @ 1 ohm.

either way, i take the hifonics over the kicker (also cheaper in price)

correct. at least. it "shouldn't". I dont know if it really can or not.

Both amps are 1 ohm stable. I have never owned a hifonics or mtx amp, but from everything I've ever heard the kicker would probably still be the most reliable.
