Saw this thing in action at SBN 2012. Was thinking about getting it. What do you guys think?

The Krome mids are nice, but I wouldnt get the amp. Im sure its a nice amp, but the fact it does power at 1ohm stereo or 2ohm bridged makes it pretty worthless.

Just go with the Lanzar Opti700x2. Does 950x2 @ 2ohm.

Well I wanted to run an amp with an "active" crossover. I'm looking at the specs and LPF is 50hz ~ 120hz/ HPF is 50hz ~ 750hz. Great amp, but not what I'm looking for. Thanks for the input Gmonk.

I could run the Crescendo Audio Concerto Series C1600.2, (2) 1 for mids and the other for highs.

Concerto Series C1600.2

huh?..LOL...why is that worthless? That is why most make subs with varying voice coils to begin with...lol.

If he is looking at a 2ch full range amplifier, it probably isnt for subs. Im guessing he would be running his mids with it. Most pro audio speakers are 8ohm. Some that are designed for car use are 4ohm. If youre lucky, and are buying something like a Beyma you may have an option of 4ohm or 8ohm. If the amplifier does power at 1ohm, and you have an 8ohm speaker, like 95% of all PA mids are, you need 8 of them per channel to get the amp to make power. If it does 1000x2 @ 1ohm like the Krome, you will be getting just over 100w a speaker If he is trying to run 2kw to his mids, Id imagine he wants loud mids/highs, so loading the doors up with a bunch of cheap 6s isnt going to give him the sort of sound he wants. If he runs 8ohm speakers, it is much easier to buy a 2ch that does power at 2ohm, since he can just run 4 mids per channel and get more power each (this way he can run higher quality speakers).

You have the same problem with the Crescendo 1600.2. I cant really think of a single person locally who bought/owned a Crescendo 1600.2 that didnt swap over to the Lanzar 700x2 and love it. They all were running 8 mids, 4 per channel. They went from the Crescendo at 2ohm stereo, giving them roughly 100w to each speaker, to the Lanzar which was giving each mid around 250w. It was a night and day difference. The speakers actually came alive.

that is alot of speculation, but I do see your point. The 150w rms KA 8" mids come in either 8ohm or 4ohm configuration.
