hey I been thinking about doing this for awhile so heres my plan. First I'm gonna fill the pole vent with a plug and epoy at the top and bottem, next drill holes in the bottem plate were the gap is for venting and last cut channels in the top plate like the 9500g has. I just need a magnatizer to get it un magnatized and remagnatized //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.. Don't it **** when you get ideas that seem great but you don't have the right tools to try em out. I'm thinking that since the pole vents blocked the sub would draw air in the top and out the bottem from the 2 sets of vents but then I also got to thinkin that it might be to much venting and the air would just get stuck in the motor from not enough pressure. what do you guys think?

I paid 70 bucks for it and I have 3 others so i'm not worried if it doesnt work like planned. I've seen jacob plug the pole vent in the nightshades b4 and the SPL Dynamics subs are the konaki motors wit rear gap venting so that shouldnt mess to much up last the 9500g's come with the cooling channels in the top plate so that shouldnt be a problem. I know im gonna loose some bl cause im removing metal from the motor but well see how it goes any thoughts from some sub builders? O yea I dont want a G motor I just wanna try and experiment with some of these konaki motors since they were so cheap, if I can do it with out getting metal shavings all in the gap im gonna recone my custom one and a stock one and compare the differences in power handling and sound...

Ok so they changed the back plate alil to look more like the 9500 motor but i'm still thinking the rear ward venting should work, and heres what im gonna be doin to the top plate sry woofercooker for stealing ur pic

I never claimed to b a fea engineer or a sub builder or that it was gonna work. I just have a few cheap motors layin around and wanted to do some experiment with different cooling methods I seen implemented of various subs. I figure I can have the stock one, one with rear venting, one with cooling channels, and one with both. After all the mods to the motors are done I can recone em all with the same softparts and drop em all in the same box and test my results. Its a EXPERIMENT just like trying diff. Box configurations to see what works better. I never told anybody to do this or it was a good idea I just wanna try it out and the see the effects each one has on the motors sound, power handling ect. That's y id like to get some thoughts from jacob, nick, scott, ia, mark all the sub desiners on this site.

um r u ok with loosing some bl strenght due to cutting holes in the motor?

A drill press and dremel tool haha, but im not takin this to serious just something I been thinkin about and something to try why im bored. I've played with so many subs and seen so many ways cooling is approached and it just popped in to my head I got 25 subs sittin next to me lol check my previous posts for a thread I made awhile ago with some I had on hand b4.

Your only real problem is demagnetizing/remagnetizing the motor. I wouldn't even bother with any of this stuff if the motor is magnetized.
