Konaki Experiences

Can I live?
I know there have been a few threads about the price and looks of the new Konakis from Ebay, and thats great that they're cheap, but no one has actually said what they sound like.

I know they're supposed to be like the DD/AQ/AB subs, but the FS on the Konakis is lower than any of those subs, so can they perform well in lower tuned boxes (low-mid 30s), and do they still take the power the others take daily (2500)?

Everybody but me seems to have one, so I know there are some experienced people out there.

I haven't seen any Konakis on ebay.
they were on there for a couple of weeks. Everyone who bought them had to wait up to a month or more for their subs. The seller was really shady and started to get a lot of negative feedback so he got rid of his ebay account. I dont think you can get them for the great price that they were available at anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Right after the big buyout, he shot the prices up, and now he's just gone.

i heard they were taking up to 2k. but i kinda remember someone having a problem with the spiders tearing
I believe you are thinking about the original ones. the spiders were not properly glued down to the spider landing and were pulling up off of it when a decent amount of power was sent to them. The newer ones have the spiders attached to a plastic ring that is screwed down to the landing thus solving the problem.

i have two 12" konaki 1207a i really like em. we did have the problem with the spider coming unglued but i put some two ton epoxy and its still going strong. We put one in a 3cf box @30hz with a gto1201.1 and a yellow top optima in a 94 toyota camry and it was very impressive.
