konaki 9500 clone box build. 9.4 cubes @ 35hz

Stupid question probably, but that box looks heavy as hell, or does the birch make it significantly lighter?

Otherwise, I assume you have someone to help you lift that thing into the hatch?

i actually lifted the box without the subs just now. its prolly only a 45~50lb box with all constructed. so like 150~175 with the subs in. i will have large metal fence handles bolted on the front and back to help the removal and replacement process.

ill get pics of those soon. but construction has started, i have a few pics thus far. i need to notch out the center brace so i can fit the port wall in place and retain the brace above and below the port. so im back out with my jigsaw and circular saw. be back later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

uploading pictures of the build now.

all thats left to do is to cut the holes with the router and trim a bit off the top\bottom with the flush router bit because the guy at lowes missed a few fractions of an inch, but it will come out fine. ill prolly round all the sides off while im at it.

let me know what you all think.

the black titebond thats for trim molding and crap is freaking awesome by the way. its super thick and will not drip or run, i was using the stuff upside down and it came out like silicone. the thickness of it is so awesome. we have all tried to put the glue on a vertical surface before and it starts running down the wood and getting everywhere.

this stuff just stays where you apply it and you can run it down the corner of your pieces like silicone. i will never use any other wood glue ever again.

and i have four of these handles to attach to each side of the enclosure so it is easier to remove and replace as per my design goals.

thanks for watching. stay tuned.

for now just 1100w from a memphis belle.

ill be getting new amps for them in the short term. thinkin 1500~2kw each, the amp(s) all depend on what comes up for sale in the classifieds when im ready to buy. i figure ill spend 600~700 on amp(s) so far ive only spent $600 on the sub, amps, box, misc. gonna be around $1200~1500 total i estimate. im lookin to keep it as cheap as possible just to proove to all the idiots around here locally that you dont need $5000 to put up numbers with music. prolly after i get back from nevada next month is when i will seriously start considering amps - i would have loved those two toxic 2200w amps that were for sale - they still may be, but prolly not in a month or two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

i have two 18's, two 15's, a ten, four 8's, and four 6.5's.

three amps. two over 1kw. two headunits, two active crossovers, three 1\3 octave eq's, and tons of misc stuff.

i need to get rid of some of this equipment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
