Know where I can get a good deal on this? (pics)

A lot of people are recommending mono amps...

I apologize for my inexperience if I am wrong, but how would I push 6 subs with a 1 channel amp? Can I split it up with a distribution box? If so that makes my life a lot easier...

It's all in how you wire them. Basically, what you'll be doing is wiring all the subs together, either in parallel, series, or some combination of the two, depending on whether you're getting the dual 2 ohm or the dual 4 ohm speakers.

Probably easiest would be to get the dual 2 ohm drivers, group them into 3s wired like this -

Then wire the two sets in parallel to the amp (unless the amp you choose has two outputs for wiring ease). That's assuming you're going with one huge amp, such as that MA Audio or a HCCA.

Otherwise, go with two amps, 1 ohm stable that will do 1.5k-2k rms each and run 3 subs off each amp, wired like above.

Thank you for the excellent advice everybody. Especially Wonderbread, that helps a lot!

Tommyk90...

It's a 06 Focus HB. I'm taking out the back seats.

So I could just get 2 amps that are stable at 1.34ohm...great.

Vetkilr, do you have a link to the selling thread? I forget where I saw the link before. Thank you.

Vetkilr, is that amp stable at 1ohm? I don't see anything suggesting it is at the MA Audio site.

RMS Power @ 14.4V

50W x 1 @ 4 Ohm

3600W x 1 @ 2 Ohm

RMS Power @ 17.0V

75W @ 4 Ohm

4000W @ 2 Ohm

Snoopdan on here will mod it for 30.00 but no from the factory it isnt they put something inline to make it cut off, take it out and its fine and will go to .5 no problems as long as you can keep the voltage up to the amp.

You either want two amps that are stable at 1.34 ohms and provide about 1500 rms each at that load, or one amp that is stable to .5 ohms and will do a total of about 3krms.

If you went with dual 4 ohm subs, you could get an amp (like that MA Audio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) that will be stable at 1.5 ohm for about the same amount of power. Or, 1 ohm for slightly more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If you find an amp that is stable to 1 ohm and will provide 3500 watts or more, then you'll be fine too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif . You would just wire each set like this:

I'm trying to find out how much I could push to them, but I said 500w because that's what it's rated for. Have you pushed 750w to them? 1000w?

I have ran an Orion 2500d to a pair of TypeR 12s and later 15s. 1200 @ 4 ohms to the pair daily and 2500 @ 1 ohm for burps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
