I'm trying to stay as close to $1500 as possible, including the Type-Rs which are $720. That leaves roughly $700 for amps to power all the subs. Possible?

As suggested...anyone know of any good, inexpensive Class-Ds which can push 500w-750w+ even at 1ohm?

Wouldn't I need to have 1-ohm subs wired in parallel to achieve a .5-ohm impedance?

get two or even one amp capeable of equal or greater power for less and getless speakers with greater output capeability.

whats wrong with ebay? if you buy from like indoaudio or one of those power sellers you wont get screwed. a 12" type r brand new can be had on ebay for about 140 shipped. i doubt your going to find a better deal on one. and they can take 1000w easy...my 2 friends are actually buying some cause they dont want to spend alot at all so i told them to get 2 12" type r's instead of the audiobahn crap he was looking at...

I have never had a good experience on eBay, and I always purchased from PowerSellers including IndoAudio and SomaMax. 3 weeks no response etc. Not worth it to me when I can get Type-Rs for $120 at a good retailer, probably $140-$150 shipped.

Anyways, Type-Rs can really handle 1000wrms? That's crazy. Time to look for new amps...

JBL 1201.1 will do what you need it to as well. It does ~1200 @ 2ohm
