King James

Yea but KG wasn't from Minnesota. That's why people are making such a big deal over Lebron because they wanted him to be the home town hero that brought them the championship. Cleveland is pretty much desperate to win something and obviously they have no shame in placing blame on whoever they can.

Yep, it's been 50+ years since they have won anything.

Are we STILL talkin' about this douchebag????? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
Haters gonna hate.

Haters gonna hate.
Well, I ain't hatin' cause I don't watch basketball and don't like basketball...like I said earlier, when it comes to the NBA and the NFL, if these guys weren't gettin' paid millions of dollars to play a game they would either be in prison or dead.

I'd wager that they have a higher rate of college grads than this forum does.

Just about anyone probably has a higher level of education than most on this site. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I'm not always 100% sure why someone like myself with a graduate degree spends time on this site other than the purile interest in the wasted generation(s). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

I guess I would call it my daily dose of mindless fun.

There's your answer.

Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest NBA player of all time, finally expressed his opinion about LeBron James' decision to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. He made the comments to NBC on Sunday after playing in a celebrity golf tournament in Nevada.

"There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry [bird], called up Magic [Johnson] and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team,'" Jordan said. "But that's ... things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys."

Last year, Jordan said Kobe Bryant was the best player in the NBA at one of his basketball camps.

Hall of Famer and former NBA star Charles Barkley also recently weighed in on James' decision, saying he was "disturbed" because he believed it was "planned all along."

^^^Jordan was a major rival of Magic and Bird back then, meeting in major series that were like wars back then. Lebron hasn't had that with Wade/Bosh, they're not mortal enemies on the court like the great players of the 80's were. That's why I can see why Lebron wanted to go there, because it was more like having a chance to play with your buddies than play with your rivals.

Of course they do, they are ushered through college like royalty. Have you ever heard Shaq speak? He's a college grad...
He may sound dumb because of his voice and the fact that he probably doesn't try to sound like a scholar when giving post-game interviews, but he's definitely not a stupid guy, in my opinion. There are also many guys who are well educated and actually finished college while in the NBA(Vince Carter comes to mind, even missed a playoff game to go to his graduation at UNC, IIRC).

Of course you have the usual hood rat types that would have wound up dead or in jail if sports hadn't panned out for them; seemingly every major sport has that though.

You can't really have rivals unless you are winning championships and being the team to beat.. its not like same state rivals in college or w/e.

Lebron probably doesn't have any enemies minus clevelands coach cause why would you need to dislike him. He hasn't beat you in a game that counts for anything. I am sure plenty of people HATE kobe, Pierce, etc etc.

I will bet the heat won't make it to the finals. that is all.

Magic Man

Just this first year?

People doubted Boston too...
I can't say anything for years to come.. don't know everyones contract and the teams money sitch for years coming up don't follow THAT closely.. but definitely won't even make it this year. probably won't make it for a while though not just depth but learning to play together and a coach that knows how to play them. Can't wait to see James eclipsed by wade coming out and will be waiting for the result of it

LOL @ boston.. Boston doesn't need to prove a thing to anyone. They have proven(the team, owners, etc) they can win.. again.. and again etc
