i agree, lebron has not yet filled mjs shoes. i doubt he ever will. he is young tho
Its far too late. MJ was already MJ by Lebron's current age. Jordan was simply a natural. And by that I dont mean a natural at basketball, James and many other good players are/have been that. Jordan was a natural at being THE superstar, dominating in virtually every way.
No one in the game today will have the class and respect that MJ had.
Period.
Absolutely. Nor the intelligence. Its not talked about much, but Jordan is very smart, and it showed in his game play and his leadership. He wasn't just a guy with a lightning fast step towards the basket like the 'superstars' today, he was an on-the-court 4-star general.
People always mention Jordan's 60+ point games. The ironic part is, he could easily have had 10X more of them if he'd wanted to. As an avid spectator and Jordan fan through his entire career, it was easy to see his general game plan night in and night out. He came out and tried to get his teammates into their groove. Only when Scottie was missing his 17ft jumpers and couldnt drive to the basket, and only when Kerr or Armstrong couldn't drop the 3-pointers, that's when Jordan took control and started schooling people. Those 45 point nights, the 55 point nights, the 60 point nights... most of them in the regular season were simply nights his other teammates couldn't beg, borrow or steal a basket themselves. So Jordan brought the win home, otherwise he was content to sit back and help the other Bulls win the game. Smart. It kept a team cohesive, even with such a huge superstar. It kept the other teammates happy. It gave multiple ways to beat a team, making it hard to defend them from one night to another. And through all that, he still managed to put up unearthly stats for himself. Even if someone comes along to wins 4 back to back, 6 total rings, or win 72 regular season games (out of 82)... I still doubt they would be the player Jordan was.
