I have never bought a battery other than say everstart or whatever from walmart for my car, so my question is would this do well as a starting battery and work for my system as well( total of like 1000w)?????

sorry for the noobish batt question, just uneducated in this area of CA. Thanks

since i have no clue on the cca of the 1400hc i couldnt guarentee anything. I will tellyou that i think it should be fine. I'm using a 1400hc as my sttarting bat as well. However i have no system in it yet im just about to start my install. A bad ho alt has put me behind... On the otherhand i am running a 5.9l 360 with a 150a stock alt in my cherokee and the bat seems fine... I'm thinking of moving both 1400's to the back and using my stocker as a starter tho... the 1400 size wise seems small.. good luck i think you would be fine tho...

why? for a 1kw system you dont need a deep cycle battery since thats not enough to put a serious load on yoru electrical system anyways. if your only runnin a 1k system use the regular ol walmart batteries that meet the minimum requirements for your car. now if you upgrade and are worryin about voltage drops where a battery with more juice might help then yes...but as a starting battery and a small system. no. if anything a higher output alt would be a much better investment to take a little load off your ignition system when running the sysytem

have had mine for 2 years and past 2 winters we have had a month straight under 20 degrees (3 weeks this year under 5) and works great. im running roughly 500 watts rms ab power off a 18 yr old 70 amp alt lol

You should definitely be fine. In my '01 accord with a 90A stock alt I had a Kinetik HC 1400 under the hood with the big 3 and all 1/0 wiring and I had a treo ssx 1500.1 for my amp. With the car off it dropped to 11.8V and 11.9V and was only one time. When I dropped in my soundstream xxx 6500 on the same electrical, thats when I had problems, but that was a huge jump. But as mentioned you should defintely be okay with that. Also, if you haven't bought the battery yet, there is a guy on here selling new one's. Great guy as well. I'll give you his info if you PM me.
