Yes, I truly believe kinetik would not be in the position they are without the FREE advertising they got on the forums and being in the competition lanes for many, many years. Look at their main advertisements! 180 db this, 180 db that, scott owens, kyle witherspoon, "congrats to winners here, winners there".
Yes, Kinetik was built upon a reputation in the lanes and THAT is why they are as big as they are. Of course, it does help to get products very cheaply and then market them to the extreme and wh0re them out across the country.

Many new companies are only as large as they are because of the forums. A few of those include: Fi, Ascendant, diablo audio, sundown, incriminator, just to name a few.

I don't like that Kicker is in wholesale either. I know a LOT of dealers don't like it as well because they can't compete with the prices that wholesale house sells for. No argument there. The companies themselves are what sank the audio industry, imo. Had they continued to protect authorized dealers and shops like they had in the past, we would be in a different situation. But, as I stated earlier, the companies are out the make as much money as they can and I can't hate them for that, but they stepped on a lot of toes to get there, including (yes, again) people that helped them get to where they are today.

Yes, a LOT of companies have been very successful over the years with zero involvement in competition, but kinetik is NOT one of them. Period. I don't care how much *** kissing you do, if it wasn't for the reputation they got in the lanes (and especially in bassrace), they wouldn't be where they are.

Quite frankly, the product is decent at best. The only thing kinetik REALLY has going for them is great marketing and a lot of customers out there to spread the word about how great kinetik is. I've seen more dead kinetik batteries out there than all of the other brands combined. Explain that one to me? Cheap chinese buildhouse what?

Frankly, I'm glad I never pulled the trigger and purchased any kinetik batteries because I KNOW I can get a battery just as good, hell BETTER, than a 2400 or whatever for less cost, even without being on a "team".

Distributors are wh0res? To get actual distributor prices you have to be either a big dealer direct or a big dealer via the distributor..it is called volume. To buy direct from a distributor you need the proper tax forms and a business. If you do it just to buy and sell stuff from your home it would be a VERY wise idea to keep track for tax purposes as I know a guy that got butt reamed by the IRS for playing the system. (they do audits from tax ID numbers) He paid more in taxes and penalties than what he bought because he failed to keep paper work so the IRS made up his numbers for him then settled after that. Distributors actually help save money in shipping and workers for the manufactures and in turn help employ people in the areas the distributors are actually in which in turn SAVES MONEY FOR THE DEALER buying it from a volume distributor and saves in shipping. There are not many companies that do not use distributors like Memphis which you seemed to say Woofers Etc was authorized for internet sales for Memphis. I looked up Woofers addy online and plugged it into the Memphis dealer finder and they were not there. I then called Memphis just to be sure and sure enough according to who I talked to they are not. "No authorized internet sales means no authorized internet sales". So apparently that is not perfect either. Some items they are more on others less fact is NO internet sales are warrantied via Memphis and I called my very good friend who is a dealer and ran down some of the prices and he also confirmed what was said by Memphis. What about going to forums and buying opened boxed, over stocked batteries for 50% under dealer cost fully authorized full warranty? LOL I mean sheesh salesmen can just open an amp box or a battery box or a woofer box and say "ooops this is an open box" and sell it for whatever.

So somewhere it is ok for some people to make money and others not to? You say the team price went up $100? How would you know for sure if you never bought it? When you asked about "team pricing" what would you say when they asked you "what did you pay the last time?". What could you say? You just said you never pulled the trigger. As a competitor do you or did you talk to Rich, Erik, Pat or Chris very often so they got to know you? Relationship is half the battle. Also I am pretty sure they may ask other manufacturers about potential team members. Meaning if you have a big/other sponsors they check to make sure the potential team member/team plays by the rules and don't give back bigger headaches than they help. problems could be talking about their prices to everyone, ordering new product and selling it for profit, not paying in full for what they use and talking bad about their sponsor so on and so forth. Companies on a level compete with eachother but on the up and up they do talk about these things between eachother. So if they don't know you from Jack and they see that you compete at a show how are they suppost to know when they walk up and say "I want team prices and I won XXX show"? You are kind of leaving the character issue out of it. I also will stick to what I said about the team deal vs what you said it was, the person I asked actually has a say in it and for a team member it was well under what you said it was.

For a guy who doesn't care for something and runs 1 battery you sure seem to have plenty to say and argue about.

Dont they use batcap, optima, powermaster, odyssey and stinger in USACI too? Why did Kinetik win classes with 2400's? I have seen people say they have tested powermaster D2700's against odyssey 1700-1750 and say they were .9 db down....others say .5db...I have seen at 2005 Unified USACI finals a competitor switch out an odyssey/stinger 2150 and go up .3 db with a HC2400, SEEN THAT first hand and he moved up 1 or 2 spots. I have seen it with optima g31's as well AS well it going back the other way. I have seen competitors switch out from a 16v batcap 8400 to a single 17.7 kinetik mod bank and jump up from 2nd or 3rd to first again at the same show. More than 1 World champion competitor told me there was more than 1 db difference between them. Only reason I bring that up is the 17.7 banks were made from modded 2400's.

I've gotten prices in the past even before I won ANYTHING and they were $100 less than the prices I get now after being a multi time national and world champion. How does that work exactly? This is how I know team pricing went up.

I don't run 1 battery, I currently run 3 with intentions to add more depending on what classes I decide to run this year.

I'm sure you're getting better pricing just because you're their personal ball washer. I, however, am an unbiased source trying to make a name for myself which seems pretty impossible to do these days. We will continue to butt heads because you're good friends with them and I'm a seasoned competitor looking to run a company's products and feel like I'm getting short changed.

But all this bickering is moot anyways, because even if I did somehow magically get better prices after all this, I've discovered some batteries that are worth my time and I don't have to deal with different prices for different people, which kinetik is known for. I can buy them and run them and be done with it.

So if you've got anything else to say you can tell somebody who might give a damn, and that certainly isn't going to be me.

I live near a good group of street class competitors (jeff brown, james herren, and mike skaritka) and they will without a doubt tell me that powermaster and odyssey will walk all over kinetiks day in and day out. People say they are good for bassrace and daily driving, but then I'd ask them "wouldn't the similarly sized powermaster or odyssey be even better?" Afterall, the other batteries have a faster discharge rate with just as much reserve.

Also, how in the world can you compare ONE batcap 8400 to one of the modded kinetik banks?

I'm not getting prices any better than anybody else. I'm getting normal prices that the company charges (read: non-inflated charges because of a name stamped on it). I found it much easier to walk off the beaten path when it comes to stuff like batteries.

I don't ask what anybody else's team prices are. Why would I (other competitors openly admitted to me that they get better prices than others, no coercion necessary)? Did I state any prices in here? No i didn't, so that's a completely irrelevant point. I've gotten prices on equipment from other companies. If I didn't like the prices, then I just didn't go with their product. Simple enough. No bashing, no ranting. But you just had to come in here praising kinetik and pissing on everyone else. What gives you the right to do it when I can't?

I've kept my lips shut for long enough. This pricing fiasco started quite some time ago and I've done my best to just lay low and let others deal with it, but somehow you just struck a nerve with your constant kinetik dick riding. Not everybody likes kinetik. Not everybody believes in their hype (check out powermaster's website for factual info). Don't like it? Too bad.

I'm surprised that somebody from kinetik hasn't tried to contact me and POSSIBLY sort out the situation, but I guess I burned that bridge a couple posts ago.....
