I stated how much I paid. And the cabin is not the problem.. I would guess our cabin size is about the same, and even if it was the problem I don't understand how it could transform the sound THAT much. Trust me, his shit KNOCKS, it's like a punch everytime it goes off, mine is just lackluster booms. And like I said, you guys don't realize how big of a difference we're talking about. Anyone with half a mind could tell how much harder his hits than mine, it's NOT a subtle difference by any means. I'm pretty sure if I took his amp and put it in my car it *should* sound just like his.

I'm just kind of dumbfounded why they gave me a f-cking sandstorm amp and him the powerbass amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif I could have easily went to a few of the other car audio places but I chose these guys cuz they are a small family owned business and they seemed pretty friendly (while they're trying to get you to buy shit). Hopefully they're as concerned now that they're done with my business and rightfully fix the situation. I'm just going to keenly ask if they could try to tune my subs and stereo now that I have the premier. And if it doesn't come out like my buddies I'm going to pull out both our receipts (showing I paid more) and ask what's the deal. And if that doesn't work hopefully this *professional* will simply feel bad he shorted me some piece of sh-t amp.

I know 560 bucks isn't much nowadays, but honestly I paid MORE than my buddy and his shit blows mine clear out the water.

You need to look at the receipts though, You may have paid more, but you got different subs aswell, Maybe your subs cost more than his? I wish you luck when you go back, But I would be nice about it, and see what they say about taking the amp back, Chances are they won't just take it and give you a PB amp though....

The thing is... the receipts really only show how much we paid. It lists what we were supposed to get.. but they couldn't get the powerbass package in.. so they make-shifted some systems with what they had. I got the better of the subs.. but a p-o-s amp.. I would have rather got the subs he got and the amp he got because they rock together. I really don't want to pay more for another amp seeing as I just bought this premier. But I'll probably have to buy another amp (lucky me.. another couple hundred dollars to get my low end subs to sound properly).

Basically they were to order a box/amp/subs that were all designed to work together. But they couldn't get it in for some reason, so I got what I got. They should have made a pretty penny if they didn't pay retail prices.. seeing as they are authorized dealers I'm assuming they bought their merchandise for cheaper.

Anywho, I'm just kind of disappointed they would give me my system the way it sounds and pass it off for nothing. I had a Jensen deck in my car (came with my car, bought my car used), which was their excuse for the shitty quality of the system as a whole. So I got the premier and it sounds way better, but hardly enough so to compensate for the differences.

I guess it's my shitty lack of researching before buying, I just have too much trust in 'professionals'.

that all being said I Still bet 80% of it is the tranfer function difference between the cars. I drive a freaking cadillac and loads of kids with garbage equipment get as loud or louder than me pretty easily due to cabin gain. Cabin gain can be 6-10 decibels going from one car to another. No reaslistc amount of power makes that kind of difference up once you get into even moderately powered setups.

i have to agree. I cant say exactly, in acoustic terms why this happens, but it does. It takes quite a bit to get my malibu loud, while my brother has an older little accord with 1 Premier 12 on a little Phoenix Gold 300.1 and it bumps...cabin gain can be a factor

well, if you cant exhange it, sell it on craigslist. Tell them its a "brand new, 1200watt mono amp" you can find some dummy that will give you 75-100$ for it. Take that money and buy a MBQ 1000.1 online for 160$. That way you get a major upgrade while only spending an additional 60-80$

I went back today after work and they handled it pretty professionally. I could tell they wanted me to budge and they were getting quite upset. Long story short they are going to swap it with this tomorrow: Hypnotic V1500DX - 1500 Watt Monoblock Amplifier [V1500DX] - $179.99 : CarJamz.com, Inc., Car Audio, Stereo, HID Conversion, Custom Boxes, Chrome Trim, Rims, Kinetik Anybody know much about this?

They admitted the amp I got was inferior to the one my friend got. It took a little arguing to get there, but I'm glad their intentions are to satisfy the customer. So we'll see what happens.

It's certainly better than the amp you have now.

Still not great, but should at least be comparable to your friends powerbass amp.

not too familiar with it, but i hope it works out better for you
