Kicker ZX2500 @ 1ohm for dd?

I have been searching forums and this one seems to be the usefull as far as Kicker amps. I don't need opions or hear "it should work" Has anyone run the 2500 at 1ohm for daily?? I am wanting to power my 2 RLP 15 dual 4's. Right now I am using 2 Alpine MRD1005's and my power supply is fine, no lights dimming. I am interested in the Kicker because of the claimed efficent power draw. I did read the vs thread with kicker and Orion but still no definate answer on 1ohm for dd. If not I will prolly go with a Memphis 2500d

Yes. I have run more than one of them @1ohm daily. Tons of other people on the board have as well.

At one ohm, it DOES draw a good amount of current though.

Oh, and I'd be careful with those TC9's and that much power.

speaking of you and kicker amps...where the F is the results from adding in Jason's amp? Update your thread ***.

not trying to start a argument, but if yall saying itll run at 1ohm daily then why do they say its 2 ohm stable. at 1ohm it should be close to 5000 watts

Incorrect. Incorrect. Incorrect.

Can't use the n00bx approach of double wattage. Especially in unregulated/loosely regulated class D amplifiers.

Kicker felt it necessary to rate it for a 2ohm load for most people, and that's what they obviously warranty it for. But, those who are experience and know how to properly support the amplifier @1ohm, it will be able to if you feel so inclined.

Talking to Tracy, there isn't a large gain going from 2ohms to 1ohm.

humm
now that makes sense.

but would you agree if you need a 1ohm amp would you look at a different one.
If you know what you are doing...I don't think he does agree //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif.

That's what I would think at least....considering he bought his to run at 1 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So... if it sucks that much more power at 1@ and not much of a wattage gain then I'd probably be better off with the Memphis 2500d which is optomized for 1ohm load, right?? I can get them both new around $850 or so.

Sure.

I haven't had any experience with the Memphis, but if it follows their current streak of being very strong amps... then yes.

This kicker though... is the strongest amp I've had in my truck. Whenever I try out new amps, I have a few close friends around... and whichever is louder stays. The Kicker has beat out, two Modded MTX1501d's, IA 20.1 (@.35ohms), two Sundown SAZ1500d's.

Ive ran over 2 of these amps at 1 ohm daily and have had no problems at all.

Not even a cutoff.

I rode to someone house over 1 1/2 hrs bumpin hard as I like and it didnt even cutoff and wasnt much hotter then ambient.

No amp is optimized for one ohm............thats just stupid.

Some are better at lower ohms then others(20.1) and need to run that low to make power, but doesnt mean they are optimized???

Its harder to make power at a higher ohm then to do it at a lower ohm............thats why most amps dont make power till you cut the hell out of ohms to get to where the amps sweet spot is but Kicker makes thiers for the normal person thats not runnin 4 million subs.
