I can get one for about 260 shipped to my door, is there any other amp that is comparable or even better to the kicker for this price. I know it is a great amp I am just wondering if im better off spending my money on something that is a better deal.

the only thing is I wanted the kicker cuz it does 1000 rms at 2 ohms and im not sure my car can handle 1 ohm

How do you you wire your car down to 1 ohm?

Buy the Kicker, great amp. You can expect more than 1000 watts from that amp also. Id say closer to 1200.

Just curious, but what makes a $400 Sundown amp that can do 1000 RMS at 1 ohm better than a $250 Kicker amp that can do 1000 RMS at 2 ohm?

Other than the name of course. What is actually better about it?

I just see them recommended so often, but the prices are outrageous for the wattage they provide. I figure I must be missing something.

if you can find an older mtx 81000d, mine did 1251@ 2 ohms at 12.5v and they are rated at 1500 at 14.4v. iam running mine off the stock 105 amp alt and the big 3 upgrade and the electrical system is ok.

get the kicker. Amps put out power at different impedances(sp). So if your car can handle 1000 watts at 2 ohms, it can handle 1000 watts at 1 ohm. 1000 watts is 1000 watts. You only need concern yourself with power levels,your car doenst care if you run a amp at 1 ohm,2 ohms or 0.5 ohms, your car only cares on the amount of power the amp makes and how much current draw. again grab the kicker, great company, powerful and and efficient
