Sucks

Have any of you fools ever dealt with it? It's been 2 Months of BS

Sent my Horse in for work because it didn't work when I bought it. First thing I have to deal with is Authorized seller stuff. Took about a week to get an answer on that

Then I get told my amp is going to be warrantied (like it should) and is being sent to R&D for repair. Repairs could take Up to One month (told me this January 30th). Nbd I've lived this long without an amp so i can do another month.

Month goes by and no word

Couple more weeks go by and still no word

Finally decide to call and see what's up and how repairs are coming along with my amp. They have no updates in the computer about how the repair work is coming. Will give me a call abck once they call the tech and see how it's coming

Two days go by and finally get a call that they are currently looking for a "Replacement Amp" for me. This is where I'm beginning to lose patience.

I can understand a month to repair an amp, hell even maybe a month and 3 weeks, but to call me back and tell me it's currently going past Two months, you decided not to repair the amp and you're just trying to find a new amp to send me?

You kind of have to call and bug them every week, or they forget about you.

They will honor their word though, but BNIB horses are getting harder and harder to find. If I had to guess, someone is calling every authorized dealer they have trying to find you a horse that never got sold. Remember, they were all built in 2007-2009, and haven't been in the 'production line' since 2010. The ones that are floating around are all they have left, and they did a massive sell early 2011 to get them into dealers hands and out of the warehouse. Kicker HQ no longer has a single Warhorse in house that can be sold/given to customers.

I've been talking about this on the FB forums... Might just ask them if they'll send me 4 zx2500s and call it even. Just tired of waiting around for this thing and I've got some issues with the car I need to deal with (i.e. paint and suspension work). I'll have never been part of the warhorse club other than owning a paper weight for a year and some odd months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

That really sucks man, sorry yours was DOA. I had huge issues with mine for the first month and was about to tell them the same thing (4 2500s). I finally figured out I was actually overpowering my subs a great deal; backed the potentiometer off, and viola, they got loud and stopped stinking. Warhorses definitely are a breed of their own. With that comes both advantages and disadvantages.

GL, hopefully they find one that isn't spoken for (I kinda have another one at a close retailer with my name on it).

Better tell kicker to call texas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I actually am kind of hoping they can't find another one I'd rather run 5k and have bags on my car

So today I came home, got the mail, walked up to my front door, and was startled to see this:

i know there's that whole mentality of sometimes you just can't please a customer, but really? There was nobody home, so I'm pretty pissed fedex just left this thing chilling at my door with a "we delivered your package post note" that wasn't even filled out and how kicker shipped this back. Last time I shipped it to them, I had a box made to fit around the box holding the broken amp (box within a box BOXCEPTION), but I guess some company's want to watch the world and their products burn.

As long as the amp works when I install it (hopefully this or next weekend) then I'll be a little less mad.

At least it's good to see it back.

Keep in mind this was ~10 yrs ago, but I had to send in a new to me (used) ZR240 and it was out of warranty by 3 months. The replaced it with a brand new amp, birth sheet and all at no cost to me and I had it in under 2 weeks. 9 days IIRC. Times have changed, so have their employees.

Glad to see they got you something back. Although I'm sure it was bad to see a $1200 amp just chilling at your front door, you know you were excited to be greeted by the beast.

Yes, smgreen20, times at Kicker have changed. I'm so very lucky to have an authorized dealer between me and them. If it weren't for the authorized dealer (that happens to be highly thought of by the Kicker area rep), I would probably no longer be running it. I have been well taken care of myself, however.
