Kicker vs RE?

I mean really its about the money game, I can get either brand 15s or 2 12s for about the same price. Just trying to see which one would sound better given the req box for each. Yes i only have 1200 watts to work with on the jbl amp. kicker 15 is definately an option.

I feel like a lost puppy in the world of bass

^^^1200 is a lot on a daily, but if you want the L7 is a good SPL monster.

Have you thought about FI-Audio,Audioque,Mach5 Audio,Sound Solutions Audio???

Kickers & alpine type-r & x are in the same league.

Do you know the difference between SPL & SQL daily????

Yea i thought about Fi bl but its a little more expensive. i dont know exact definitions but what Ive gathered is that spl is just like loudness, and sq is sound quality. My goal is just to be heard from afar and shake your brain in the inside if thats reasonable

How big's your trunk, as well? An L7 needs some space to really move. My box took up the entire hatch of my car, including pulling out the floor and spare tire.

well i have a 99 pontiac bonneville with lotssss of space in the back so im pretty sure i can fit at least 6 cft if needed.

With 1200 watts, get a 15L7, give it about 5cu with a nice big fat port tuned around 32 Hz, feel the boom. That's my exact old setup and the more I think about it the more I keep wanting to do it again.

The only thing about the kicker 15 is that its a dual 4. Would that work with my amp?

I wouldnt run a l7 15" on 2k rms. MX sure

i would, ask jmanpc he did it with no problems,it can take it.

i ran one 10" l7 on 1800w

LOL, no you got it. It's just funny because in 2004 I had that EXACT setup, but with a dual 2 sub. And right now I have another 1200.1 sitting in my trunk, waiting to get hooked up to whatever sub I decide on.

That sub/amp combo is dynamite. You will NOT be disappointed. The JBL is supposedly rated at ~1300+ at 2ohms, and almost 1400 at 1ohm, so yeah it goes great together.

ha nice, people think im crazy when i say that. so is that amp compatible with a dual 4 cuz thats what the kicker 15 is. or the RE MX 15 is dual 1 if that would be easier to hook up. lemme know

Dual 4 and Dual 1 will both end up with a 2ohm load on that amp. If your goal here is to have a system that pounds, go with the L7. It's the perfect amount of power to it, in a big box it'll move SERIOUS air.
