Kicker vs. JL

I had a few questions about new subs... I currently have a pair of JL10W0's in my car now powered by a Kenwood KAC-729S Amp. The subs and amp as you can tell are old(about 6 or so years), but work fine. I am looking into getting new subs but am limited on money right now. I know JL's are great in quality bass, but would something like a single 10 solobaric L5 give me more bass/ the same if not better quality than my JL's?

Also right now Kenwood amp is 2 channel. Does anyone know the powerrating on this amp and what it would be if bridged into 1 channel as well as the OHM's at that point?

Thanks Alot

I believe that the kenwood amp is somewhere in the vicinity of 220watts x 2. I know that its only stable to 2 ohms and you should see in the area of 450 x 1. I don't have the spec in front of me, but on an amp that old its gonna be kind of hard to tell. I'm just going off of what the specs have been on similar kenwood amps in the past.

If i decieded to get the solo L5 it has an RMS of about 450watts...Would my bridged kenwood at 300 do it justice, or would getting a new amp be worth the extra money.

Also would I have to get a 4-OHM sub if i decieded to bridge the kenwood into 1 channel
